AGL Rewards

Why are AGL running a rewards program?  I thought they were an energy company.  Rewards cost money and I would prefer a reduction in my electricity rather than rewards which are of no value to me. Stick to the knitting.  I can perhaps see the connection with internet provision, solar panels and EV charging, but I cannot see the link with items having nothing to do with power and connection.

AGL, like many energy companies, is diversifying its offerings to enhance customer loyalty and engagement. A rewards program can help them stand out in a competitive market and encourage customers to stay with them. While it might seem disconnected from their core services, the idea is to provide value in different ways, especially as the energy landscape evolves with renewable energy, electric vehicles, and smart home technologies.

That said, many customers share your preference for straightforward benefits like reduced bills. Companies often balance customer incentives with loyalty programs, but it can be frustrating if the rewards don’t resonate with your needs. Your feedback about preferring bill reductions over unrelated rewards is valid, and many companies do listen to such input to shape their offerings.
