After connecting an electricity monitor I found the highest users to be a clothes dryer and suprisingly an electric kettle.
I stopped using the dryer and changed to tho old style kettle using gas. Next on the list is the micro wave !. Mine is very
old and I'v been told the newer one's are more efficient ? Is this so ?
Hi dalvis,
This is a really great discussion - love that you've taken the initiative to connect an electricity monitor to find out which appliances are gobbling the most energy. Which electricity monitor do you use?
You might like to check out http://www.energyrating.gov.au/ for more info - you can compare the energy rating of appliances here, so it's a good place to start if you're in the market for a new microwave.
Let us know how you go.

Thanks for reply Lauren 🙂
I bought the monitor a couple of years ago now its an Efergy elite.
The monitor works well but i didnt have any luck trying to connect
the sensor via bluetooth to my PC.
On my AGL usage page I have my usage well below "efficient similar homes"
so am reasonably happy ....
