Hi there,
If I push the green hot water boost button during the day to heat my hot water, does this power come from my solar system or the grid? I have a EDMI Atlas MK47 meter. Thanks

Hi mitch68,
Welcome to the Community!
If your solar system is generating power at this time, then your appliances should be using the power your solar system produces as opposed to drawing power from the grid.
Kind regards,
Jayden
Does that apply (drawing from excess PV solar rather than the grid when you press the Green boost button) even if you are on a controlled load for the cheaper overnight tariff?
When you push the bypass it bypasses the controlled load switch (and the associated meter).
So you will pay peak rate (or the applicable rate at the time).
However, if you are generating solar, then that should get consumed first.
