Meter running when nothing is in use

Our meter runs very often when no gas is being used. 
Our bill is also very high. Just wanting to check if the meter should continue to run despite no gas being used?

Hi @JessBelo , your meter should not run when not in use at all, though it may be that you're using gas somewhere that you're not aware of,  for example on a gas hot water system.

A high level of usage might also suggest a gas leak. It depends on how quickly the meter is increasing - it's certainly worth investigating.
