Meter Box lock

I am looking at purchasing an approved lock for my meter box. I believe these locks are approved and accessible by meter readers and emergency services. Can you confirm that AGL has access to read meter if I install lock.

Hi John,

A lot might depend on which state your in etc. for me I am in SA and only SAPN can read a manually read meter, as far as I understand, on their website they talk about meter locks saying there is a lock approved and avaliable from certain registered/approved locksmiths. I went to one and purchased a lock, it came with two keys and meter installers and SAPN meter readers recognize the lock and hold the master key. I don't believe AGL actually read manually read meters themselves. Hope this helps!!
