new smart meter registering over 2 Kwh

We had a new smart meter installed two days ago. We also have an existing Solar system and a 13.5 kWh battery.

Since the installation of the new smart meter, which registers over 2 kWh in usage a day, this equates to over 70 kWh over a 90-day period. Whereas our apps for our battery and solar show pretty much nothing being drawn from the grid at all, even the meter that was replaced was pretty close to being in sync with the apps we have.

And our battery still has between 10 - 30% left in it in the morning and is set to draw down to 5% before switching to the grid, which it does.

Any help understanding this would be appreciated

Same inquiry as Lyndon-63 the other day, same property ?

Since the meter is the new thing here, I would be getting it checked, as it might be wired up wrong, or in our case ours had the wrong software installed when we had an issue with it sending data.

Digital meters use a small amount of power, it's insignificant though and sounds like 2kwh a day is not something you usually see with your solar and battery setup.

It's good you have a past period to compare.

I'm not sure if AGL needs to contact the meter contractor, or if it's your electricity supplier, I guess AGL might be responsible for a check if they organised it at your request, or if they arranged it in a routine upgrade.

Best of luck sorting it out.
