I've looked all over the AGL website, and have even done searches, but nowhere does AGL have any product specifications, such as What Type (AC or DC?), the Voltage (1.5v, 3v, 12v, 24v, 120v, 230v, 1000v, 20000v?) or even Frequency (30Hz, 50Hz, 60Hz?) of the electricity they have available for sale. If I buy electricity from AGL, what should I expect to come from the wall socket in my home?
please note this is mostly a toungue in cheek question, but I do make a valid point, that this basic info isn't written anywhere, is it so secret, like the recipie for Coca Cola?
Thanks for getting in touch!
The specifications of mains power in Australia are consistent across the board, irrespective of who generated it. Any mains power supplied to a residential property has a voltage of 230 V, and a frequency of 50 Hz!
Hopefully this helps!
thats BS if you have a smart meter it will not calculate your usage at 230v. far from it. the meter samples the amps used at time of sample and also the voltage which can be as high as 254v ie 24v above the standards and is regarded as wastage by the industry. which is fraudulent way to get someone to pay for the over supply. this over supply causes appliance s to burn out faster ie kills them. and u cant claim compensation for this. so not only are they decieving people and charging for wastage but they wont compensate for losses. Tariffs are CALCULATED with 230v as the LV, yet they falsely dont use 230v fo re usage calculation, and they (nmi, aemo, aer) keep handballing whos responsible for regulations yet AER IS THE REGULATOR. I would refuse to pay based on fraud. this is a huge scandal that needs goverment to investigate. seriously
