I was under the impression the meter where read by the company, not to the occupant to do there job for them.
Hi @Squirrel , you don't need to do a self-service meter read if you don't want to.
However, many customers prefer to have this option rather than receive estimated bills.
If your local electricity distributor (the company that reads your meter and maintains the connections in your area) does not send us an actual reading, you're billed based on estimated usage for the billing period. The next time we receive the actual usage, your bill is then amended and you'll receive a credit or additional charge based on the difference between estimated and actual usage.

Still having issues with meter reading via the app. I got 2 meters and the numbers got regularly mixed up with previous reading from one meter being given for the other. AGL should really lift up their game by fixing what has been an ongoing issue for months.
