Energy usage reports - include weather data

It would be interesting and analytically useful to have "an average temperature recorded on the GAS & ELECTRICITY usage reports so that at times of high or low usage (depending on heating & cooling devices installed).

This would provide some answers as to when Usage is high, low or even average relating to Heating, Air Conditioner, Clothes Dryer effects on the usage figures.

 Perhaps, even rainfall figures, which may have an effect of Clothes Dryer usage versus using the "Hills Hoist" where savings are achieved.

Obviously the above readings would need to be "area localized" versus every suburb's actual reading.

This could help explain why high & low readings occur given the monthly charts of daily usage..

Just a thought.

Would it be possible for AGL to include on its daily energy usage charts the weather temperature for the day as well?  It would give a good insight into what temperatures drive higher energy consumption. I was looking through my daily energy consumption in which I could see some high usage days... I wondered what the temperature was for that day?

It's a great idea, @DB-Idea . Having that data side by side with usage data would make it much easier to identify the cause on days of high energy usage.

I've moved this over to our App Ideas board, because I think that's where this would be best implemented. I'll raise this with our App and My Account developers.

I've merged the above idea from @Cameron01 in here as well.

@DB-Idea @Cameron01

Our app and My Account teams have been looking into this great suggestion. It is on our roadmap and we've created some concept designs, but before we release anything we do need to resolve some issues with the accuracy and relevance of weather data in connection with usage to ensure we're providing the best possible experience. As a result, implementing this one is probably a little further off, but it's definitely something we have planned. In the meantime, our recent app update does include some improved capability around Energy Insights, for those seeking detailed information on their energy usage, so make sure you check those out and let us know what you think.

it's good to see this progressing.  Looking forward to seeing it up one day soon.
