Hi we have just had our smart meters replaced with digital meters, we are also on solar hot water so during cold cloudy days we have to hit boost button. the old meter used to count down then go click and you know its heating up. you could push it at any time of the day I'm in South Australia, i believe we are not like QLD or NSW that don't have this feature. Today with the new meter i wanted to test the boost button i pushed it had no idea if it was working or not. I called and was on the phone for over 40 min during this time after pushing numbers as instructed the line died, then got told to call SA power network directly when i spoke with them was told no it has to be with provider????? very frustrating i was then on hold and put through to another dept they said instead of staying on hold they will call me back, this was at around 3pm SA time. yep no call back so im none the wiser just frustrated. this option should be activated or explained, during winter we do have to use the boost button with our active life and shift work hot water is not always hot by only the j-tariff heating the unit.
