Hi there. I have recently taken over the payment of the AGL gas and electricity accounts of my late mother as I am now the owner of her property. I have new account numbers for the property. The last accounts in my mother's name have credits on them and I am wondering if these credit can be now added to my accounts? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
I want to preface my response with an apology for the recent loss of your Mother. Regarding our Deceased Estate's policy, any residual credits on these accounts can only be discharged by cheque refund, and can not be transferred between accounts I'm very sorry to say. Assuming you're the executor of the estate, you should have no issues cashing any cheques in the name of your Mother's estate.
