Why am I being harassed about a bill that is 4 days overdue? The customer service person told me his call was my reminder and wanted me to pay via credit card on the spot. REALLY!

Our credits team do contact customers if the bills have fallen overdue, this is just to follow up as a friendly reminder. I would recommend accessing your AGL My Account to track your bills, you can also set up extensions and payment arrangements directly on your account if you need one.
