Extremely high gas bill

i have been living in two bedroom apartment since last year.

recently i got a gas bill for 3 month amounted 760$$.

my last two quaterly bills were 150 and 162.

called agl  and i was said that meter reading was correct and i have to pay the amount ,which is impossible as the consumption is same as before.
