Why do we effectively pay GST on our feed-in tariff rebate

You charge GST on the full power cost before the solar feed-in tariff credit is applied. This is effectively charging us GST on the feed-in tariff. Your feed-in tariff which is now only $0.05/kW is meager already, which then you can onsell at up to ten times this value. Doesn't pass the pub test to me!
