Do gas meters get checked anymore or do energy companies do a overall suburb estimate?

Hi! Gas meters do get checked still every few months, yes. Estimate reads are usually done if they can't access the meter for some reason.

My meter is clear of plants in front and watched meter man and he quick too quick a glance only .
I want my bill looked at .

Meters are scheduled to be read every quarter, if we are not provided with a meter read your bill is estimated based on previous billing history.

If the meter read is not in line with the bill you can submit your own read, please head to https://www.agl.com.au/help-support/energy/meters-and-reads/reads/submit-a-meter-read for more information.

Hi Natalie ,

Bills shouldn’t be based on last bill but usage .
I only have a hot water service and a tiny gas heater which hasn’t been
used much this winter as I have a wood 🪵 Coonara .
Our gas bills tripled and personally it’s disgusting.
