topic Billing plans in Energy Accounts & Plans

There are so many ways using AGL has made dealing with our household electricity more difficult. It is government mandated that the bill shows if there is a cheaper rate but AGL ensures that you cannot easily make the switch. We are on a senior savers rate but you cannot even find this in the app or on the website apparently the rates have changed and the newer version is cheaper but there’s no way to change it yourself (just to change to more expensive rates) and AGL doesn’t just roll you over to the new version. Last time I tried to change it I was on the phone for over an hour and had all sorts of hassles because the account has to be in my husband’s name because he’s the pensioner (other companies can cope with the account being in the name of the person who does all the household organisation).

Hi @Frustrated4

When changing plans we do need to speak with the Primary account holder, while you may be listed as a contact person on the account as we need to speak with the account holder this is why we need to speak with your husband. If you are the one to do all the household orginaisation, it might be worth putting the account in your name instead.

The senior saver plan is available to view online, please check out our webpage here.

Thanks, Chris
