Configuration of smart meter for solar power

Recently had my smart digital meter reconfigured for Solar. I am told that I will be charged $165. Can someone justify this charge. The reconfiguration was done remotely. I called 13/6 afternoon and it was completed on the 14/6.

I called your resolutions team and SW Channah who didnt care if I stayed with AGL or left. I am going to take this to Fair Trading if not resolved or provided with a proper explanation. In Victoria remote reconfiguartion is around $55, how am I expected to pay $165 in NSW?

Hi Pauline,

Usually when you install Solar they reconfigure your system and they will charge you $29.78. This is Victoria though. Not sure about NSW. But it is very high.

Thanks Ani, I have spoken to AGL resolution and the lady was least helpful. She kept trying to justify the charge saying it is different in each state. Which is understandable but its too much of a difference. She would not even entertain the possibility that it could be an error on their part.

When I asked for further escalation she said she was it.

I dont understand how such a big Company can get away with charging fees that they themselves cant explain.
