I have just noticed that I’m not being charged the correct rate overnight - we now have 2 EVs both charging between midnight and 6 am. Also, solar feed in tariff has gone down to 2 cents per kilowatt hour. Has anyone else noticed this?

I am struggling to find out more information around the Night Saver EV Plan.

Does anyone know if there are any Solar Feed in Tariff's with this plan if you already have Solar connected to your house and won't be around to use it during the day? Also can someone confirm when the Peak / Off Peak times may be. Thanks

For EV saver plan, do I need to have "an electric vehicle at the supply address that is registered in the name of a business to which you or a member of your household have an association"? i.e. can a private EV owner use this plan?

..

I was wanting to try and clarify if the Night Saver EV plan is up for changes, and what they might be . . .

A post on an energy group . . . "AGL are surveying their user base on the EV Charger plan. I recently received a survey that was targeting sensitivity to changes on EV Charger plan and how this might impact a switch."

I did read another user post somewhere that AGL are reviewing all the tariffs associated with the plan, and maybe the supply charge, but that's normall annually . . . the 8c 6 hour thing was supposedly staying.

I'm enjoying the flexibility of the plan, although the TOU peak tariff here in SA is for 13 hours a day . . . morning peak 0600-1000 4 hours, and the real killer evening (?) peak 1500 - midnight 9 hours.
At 53c, that peak tariff is very much borderline in countering the EV rate, especially withthe 2c FIT we get for some decent solar generation to the grid daily.

If any AGL reps can shed any light on this, that would be great.

@Peej you are getting that cost info from looking at app usage, daily 30 minute blocks, see bought from grid for a 30 minute span, then it's more for Xkwh than 8c ??

All seems fine with my app and this figure, and the hourly blocks on the website usage page.

In this example, you are taking the $ amount divided by the Kwh used ?

If you are taking your figures from the website account usage page, the night section at bottom, this also includes any CL (controlled load) usage, for example a HWS (hot water system) operating, as this does not use the EV rate for 'all power into the home' on the main circuit.

See 1 hour website example below, but we don't have the HWS on CL, it's on our main circuit now.

As you said this seems to have only changed after getting a 2nd EV, it could be something else, a CL charge would show up pre that change.

The 2c FIT ?

From July 1st tariffs and FITs changed as they usually seem to do, upwards and downwards respectively.

Our FIT in SA dropped from 2c to 1c !!

You should have had a letter or email from AGL advising changes to your plan, typically this happens Australia wide on or around July 1st each year.

I expect FIT might always be present in some form with retailers, perhaps eventually being a fraction of a cent, I think many retailers in various locations already pay under 1c.
But hopefully FITs will not go negative as you see with some wholesale and very limited retail plans.

There is one retailer in SA that offers a 30c FIT for 3 hours evenings (great for battery owners), and in solar soak a negative FIT of -2c, I think that is usual solar soak in SA from 1000-1500.
The ability for a system to curtail feed in is then vital for this scenario.
