Just as an added feature, how about allowing the customer to customise their profile pic, allowing gallery pics.

Or is the reason it's tied down (restricted to AGL's gallery option), is to avoid customers placing inappropriate pics?

Hey @Nighthawk . I believe that's the reason it's locked down at the moment. Personally I'd love to see custom avatars available though. Definitely something we could look into as the community expands.

Hi David,

Sorry for opening an older thread, though given low post volume, I assume this would be okay.

How goes the quest to allow custom avatars? As the community manager I'd like to think you're best placed to advocate for this, especially if you personally buy into this.

Thanks for bringing this post back to life @Panda.

I would have thought there would be mods to moderate any inappropriate pics. Generally if you place an inappropriate pic there would be a warning or ban of some sort. Most should know the rules of posting like in many forums.

It's 2021, has there been no progress?

@Panda @Nighthawk thanks for expressing your interest in this feature. It's definitely still something I'm in favour of switching on. I think more personalization is better. I'm looking at a bit of an overhaul to the community's appearance in the near future, so I'm going to make a note to include this as a possible addition.

In a forthcoming redesign of the Neighbourhood community, custom avatars will be available for use once contributors have reached a certain rank.

Once users reach the rank of Superconductor (rank 7) on their account, they can now enable custom avatars.
