"14.8% - 15% , .2 of 1% , big difference"

My July 1 increase was just under 15%, and yeah not much difference to your 15%.

Old peak 49.432c, new was a touch over 56.5c, + 14.8% or so.

On that evening I checked the AGL comparo site and it showed a new deal where the rate was a few cents less, so I switched on the spot.

Old peak 49.423c, new 53.76c, + 9% or so.

Will assume your rates are including gst (?) . . . if you got them off your bill, they might not include GST !!

If it is inclusive, your peak and off peak tariffs are almost the exact same as mine.

Your shoulder though might as well be peak, which is strange.

I'd get that checked out, here in SA my shoulder is 24.7c, but states and sometimes regions can vary a lot.

You daily supply charge is very high, mine is $1.10352, again including gst.

What state / region are you located in ?

So inflation is 2. something % how does AGL justify increasing electricity prices 15%?

Got to keep the shareholders happy and pay those 7 figure salaries.

There were a few NEM states getting increases approved by the AER for July 1st.

None were as high as 15%, so not sure why AGL would be making higher increases.

I also got a peak tariff rise of 14.8%, but after a little switch to another plan, it was back to around 10%.

The AER had approved rises for SA of about 3.2% - 3.9%, so yeah, it's always a surprise !!
