What’s New for the AGL app v8.36 – Customer Budget Tracker

We’re pleased to announce that we’ve recently launched version 8.36 of the AGL app, introducing a brand‑new feature – Customer Budget Tracker. Now live on iOS and Android, this feature is designed to help you stay on top of your electricity spending with greater confidence.

Take control of your energy budget

Customer Budget Tracker makes it easier to understand and manage your electricity costs by allowing you to:

Set a monthly electricity budget directly in the app
Track your daily usage and costs in one place
Receive helpful push notifications when you reach 50%, 85% and 100% of your budget
Edit or remove your budget at any time, if things change

For customers without solar, we’ll also suggest a budget amount based on your bill projections to help you get started.

Extra support when you need it

To support you along the way, we’ve added helpful resources to the Electricity Service Hub, including:

Chat with us – connect with the AGL Assistant for real‑time help
Financial Hardship Assistance – information on payment extensions, bill support, concessions, grants and rebates

How to set up a budget

Set your budget amount

Open the AGL app and go to Overview.
Under the address you want to set a budget for, select Electricity .
Below the blue usage graph, select Manage Budget.
Tap the text box and enter a budget. We’ll show your bill projection as a guide.
Select Set budget.

Turn on budget notifications

After you select Set budget, a pop up will ask you to turn on budget update notifications.
Select Notification Settings.
In your AGL App notification settings, turn on Budget Updates.
If AGL app notifications are turned off in your device settings, you’ll need to turn them on first.
