As we get close to the end of the trial I have a few questions for once it’s over.
Will the EVSEs cease being monitored and managed by Chargefox? I’m getting a 2nd EV and currently if my home EVSE is being used I can’t use Chargefox for a 2nd car if it’s plugged in.
Will we get access to the admin password as I would like to start using ChargeHQ and require it to make the required changes so their servers can manage charge rates?
What date can we assume ownership of the EVSEs as it’s likely I’ll be moving home and would like to take it with me.
I'd like to add my vote to this for the same reason. I'd love to integrate the vehicle charger with my HomeAssistant so it only charges the car when I am exporting solar power to the grid. That way everybody wins.
Great question @Macca_779 - and cool to see so much interest in this from everyone on the trial!
Unfortunately I don't have an answer for you right now, as AGL doesn't hold the admin details. They're maintainted by JetCharge, and our key contacts on the trial there are on leave for Christmas / New Years break.
We'll work through this with them in the new year, and keep you all posted.
A couple of notes though:
Even though we're turning off charging schedules in the new year, the trial is still running through til the end of March so we'll be collecting charging data to help us build out a baseline of what unmanaged charging looks like, so we'll need to maintain the admin access until then.
For almost half the chargers we installed in the trial, the charger admin controls are used to constrain the chargers due to house wiring, switchboard and service fuse limitations, and network restrictions in QLD and SA. So this needs to be taken into consideration as well. You can read more about this on page 7 & 8 of our 3rd lessons learnt report
Thank you for raising this - it has definitely got our brains going on how we work through it with you through the rest of the trial.
Hi @teslaEVAGL09 - I can's speak for JetCharge but I suspect they would have directed you to us given the trial was/is still in progress.
Once we're into the new year and our contacts at JetCharge are back from leave we'll work with them to understand what the options are for when trial finishes.
FWIW: After my electrician updated my fuse box and put in a suitable outlet at the rear fo my house which made it capable of my Tesla achieving 50km/hr charging over 32A (compared to 12km/hr over standard PowerPoint), I enrolled in the AGL program.
The Schneider charger from JetCharge maxed out at 25A. When i read a recent report from the Team that I was in the minority, I contacted AGL to see if it could be increased to 32A. The Team was a little unsure about this so I contacted JetCharge directly, and using TeamViewer they remotely accessed the charger’s intranet and made the alteration - so I was back to 32A. But they didn’t want to put in any ChargeHQ details, nor would they give me the password to do it myself.
I left it at that, expecting that once the trial was over in March, the unit was mine to do with as I please, and JetCharge would release the password to me. I’m happy to wait.
I would like to, as I said, use just solar energy. Another thing I would like to do is to integrate charging state into Home Assistant.
I now have 2 EVs and I would like to be able to do automation when charging is complete. Say I want to charge both cars, I would like our Google Home to speak a notification (or not if it's the middle of the night) when charging is complete so I can swap the cars around.
I'd also love to be able to use ChargeHQ to integrate it without our SolarEdge inverter so I can charge using only excess solar once the trial concludes.
My charger has been working great with ChargeHQ since migrating it accross.
One last thing I've noted though is that on my Chargefox profile I still have a "My Charge Station" listed.
I emailed Chargefox to remove it and they said it had to be AGL that removed it from my profile. I gather Chargefox is still charging AGL for this service so I was surprised it hadn't been removed yet.
Am I able to have it removed please. It's station #3717
So glad to hear that your charger is humming along nicely on ChargeHQ!
FYI I reached out to ChargeFox yesterday to have it removed as I don't have access to do so. They're working on it and I'll let you know once they've confirmed it's completed, but keep an eye on your CF account as it should disappear soon 👍

An official answer from AGL is probably relevant to many here.

The end of the trial is just a few days away. What's the update on us getting the admin password for the charger?
