Received the AGL email today with the first monthly report for curtailment that will be sent out.
Good to see this has finally been introduced.
This report for hours for August, and the cumulative over the trial so far just over 5 months (since 25th March).
Curtailment duration for August: 1.69 hours Total number of curtailment events for the trial: 16 Total curtailment duration for the trial: 8.58 hours
So only about 1.71 hours of curtailment per month so far.
I'm guessing with 200 hours total under the trial, that will start getting hit a fair bit more as we head through spring into summer ??
I must admit, I haven't noticed much in the way of curtailment to now, so it must have been fairly subtle to date, probably part curtailment.
Today, we did get a big drop out in production around 1245-1330, and my solar people tell me it must be curtailment.
Solar production is supposed to drop down to no more than just what the home is using, but it did drop further to between 26w and 102w in that time, but on shoulder rate, this would be perhaps 2 to 3 cents only.
There must be a little lapse adjusting in the system when it drops out totally . . . ie not a part curtailment, which I expect the other 6.89 hours of curtailment may have been mostly, and not visible as such.
You can see those little uses from the grid in orange during that production slump, down from about 7kw.
Hey Lester, thanks so much for sharing your thoughts!
It’s great to hear the curtailment report landed well and that the insights are proving useful. We’re really excited to have this feedback loop in place, it’s a big step forward, and it’s awesome to see the data starting to tell a story.
Thanks again for being so engaged and observant, it genuinely helps us keep improving the experience for everyone.
We sent out the September report on October 2 at around 4:30 PM, and I can confirm that one was addressed to you. Could you please check your junk or spam folder just in case? The email was sent from solarcustomerservice@agl.com.au.
If you still can’t locate it, let me know and I’ll resend it right away.
Sincere apologies Pen, when I looked in my AGL trial emails, it was there received Oct 2nd.
So 3 reports to date Aug, Sept, Oct.
Obviously before this time, there was probably nil curtailment since the trial start in May, hence no reports before Aug.
Can I have one for November when that is ready to send out ?
I'd like to see what it says given the 2-1/2 days of zero exports (as per other thread), it should show a fairly high curtailment hours figure if it was for that whole period.
